Since its founding in 1785, the House of Piper-Heidsieck has proven its innovative expertise in selecting and blending wines of exception. A quest for excellence and open-mindedness are reflected in the entire range of champagnes created by Chief Winemaker Emilien Boutillat, serve as guarantor of the Piper-Heidsieck style. B Corp-certified since 2022, the House is committed to an inclusive, fair and regenerative future. The 2018 vintage is blended from Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay grapes sourced primarily from Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. Only the Cuvée is selected and enhanced through more than 50 months of ageing on lees.



Tasting Notes

Piper-Heidsieck Vintage 2018 is an intense, luminous, and expressive vintage. Its nose delivers notes of nectarine, red fruit, mocha, and fresh almond, with a hint of smoky notes. The palate unveils an explosion of fruit with raspberry, pineapple, and paprika aromas.

Enjoy with canapés such as sundried tomatoes, anchovies, basil and olive oil toasts or with a maint dish such as langoistine tartare with chilli, lime and oyster leaf.

Following a mild and very wet winter, spring temperatures were well above seasonal norms, allowing the vines to develop.Then, the warm, dry summer allowed the grapes to ripen quickly with extraordinary quality and quantity. The 2018 harvest came early, producing wines of remarkable fruitiness and elegance.

Hand-harvested at full maturity

  • Settling: Static clarification of juices
  • Alcoholic fermentation: 100% thermo-regulated stainless steel vats, use of selected yeasts
  • Malolactic fermentation: 100% done
  • Sustainable oenology: Limited use of oenological treatments (including sulfites)
  • Ageing on lees: Higher than 50 months
  • Ageing after disgorgement: Minimum of 6 months

  • Soil maintenance: Mechanically weeded under rows with natural grass between vineyard rows Zero herbicide

Following clement weather in early 2014, an early spring flaunted gorgeous flowering. After particularly cool and humid weather at the beginning of summer, the sun reappeared in mid-August for an Indian summer that lasted until September. The 2014 vintage boasts Chardonnays with sensational crispness and fruity, sophisticated Pinots Noirs.

The Piper-Heidsieck Vintage 2012 immediately delights the palate with its luminous personality. It offers stellar freshness, crisp aromas and the pronounced fruity nuances of Pinot Noir. While ageing will let it fully express its plush summery temperament, the 2012 vintage already promises both a vibrant and a precise tasty experience.



Tasting Notes

Golden in color, with crystalline bubbles.  On the nose, fresh citrus notes of lime or tangerine leaves, with warm, smoked notes. A touch of almond then offers a voluptuous, vivid vibrancy.  On the palate, notes of pomegranate and almond open with the expression of a plush texture of smoked tea or freshly harvested honey, and the juice of ripe black cherry and blueberries. The long, silky finish is perfect both as a prelude or the accompaniment to a gourmet meal.

The generous 2008 Vintage Brut offers an outstanding take on the traditional balance between subtly ripened Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs, from 20 crus.  Unique in character, this wine is refined by extended aging.



Tasting Notes

Elegant, light and velvety soft.  Notes of succulent peach and greengage, entwined with floral notes of cherry and hawthorn blossom, and a saltiness accentuated by notes of peppery spices and plums.

RP 90 - NV Piper-Heidsieck Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Essentiel Based on the 2017 vintage and complemented by 30% reserve wines, Piper-Heidsieck’s NV Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Essentiel was disgorged in May 2023 with a dosage of 4.8 grams per liter. Sourced from the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and Sézannais, it reveals an expressive bouquet of pear, white peach and yuzu, mingling with notes of candied citrus, freshly baked bread and a hint of smoky reduction. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, fleshy and charming, with racy acidity and a pillowy mousse that leads to a long, toasty finish."

    "The 2018 Champagne Millésime Brut displays a bright yellow/straw color and is expressive on opening, leading with notes of buttered brioche, poached pear, espresso crema, and preserved citrus. The palate is ripe and inviting, with a rounded and pillowing mousse and a soft juicy texture. It offers a generous feel and a delicate warmth on the finish. It is drinking well out of the gate and offers more immediate appeal for drinking over the coming 4-6 years."
