M. Chapoutier La Ciboise Blanc

AOC Luberon, Rhône, France

La Ciboise is named after the home of Michel Chapoutier's grandfather, located in the town of Tain l'Hermitage.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Pale yellow hue with bright reflections.
Nose: Expressive aromas of white flowers (jasmine), peach and exotic fruit.
Palate: Rich and balanced with plenty volume and a zingy, saline finish.

Enjoy with grilled or roasted white meats. Also pairs well with fish, shellfish, or a fresh goat cheese salad.

Harvesting is carried out at night, by machine, to limit oxidation and preserve the aromatic qualities.

Total destemming followed by a gentle pressing. Cold static settling. Low temperature alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats. The wine is protected from oxygen to preserve its aromatic potential. Matured 5 months ageing on the fine lees in stainless steel vats.

As the selected vines are planted in Miocene sands and limestone scree of altitude 200 for 450 metres, they are subject to a wide range of temperatures over the day which gives the wine its freshness.

Varietals: A blend of Grenache blanc, Vermentino, Viognier and Roussanne.

"The 2022 Lubéron La Ciboise Blanc offers more citrus and sappy, mint herbs in a medium-bodied, vibrant, focused, balanced style. It's another incredibly refreshing, impeccably made wine from the Chapoutier team."

"This refreshing white features a fresh kiwi core, with Key lime and white peach notes mixed in. Shows a stony hint that gives the finish spine. Drink now through 2023"

"A blend of equal parts Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Vermentino, with 10% Clairette, the 2020 Lubéron La Ciboise is pure and crisp, with a salty pear and crushed citrus style as well as medium-bodied richness. It's vibrant, clean, and just a rock-solid white that will shine on the dinner table."
