CHAPOUTIER EYES US MARKET GROWTH AND APPOINTS FOLIO FINE WINE PARTNERS

Legendary Rhône Valley Producer Joins National Fine Wine Importer

Napa, CA — Tuesday August 3, 2021 — National importer and fine wine marketing agency, Folio Fine Wine Partners, today announced the addition of M. CHAPOUTIER wines, effective October 2, 2021. This appointment boosts the national importer’s luxury wine offerings and continues Folio’s vision to represent the world’s finest family-owned and managed wine producers.

Commenting on the partnership, Michel Chapoutier, M. CHAPOUTIER Owner and CEO, stated:

“We are excited for the future of our business under Folio’s distribution leadership. The values of the owners of Folio and of the Mondavi family perfectly align with our family values, and our vision of developing the Maison in the US market in the right channels, and with the right clientele.”

He continued:

“Folio is recognized as a strong brand-building organization, and the proven ability of Folio to build luxury wine brands will help us to allow the American consumer to discover further our specialized and unique wine offerings. This includes wines produced using biodynamic practices, which is at the heart of our business, and the company’s true DNA.”

Folio Founder and Executive Chairman, Michael Mondavi is thrilled with the addition:

“For many years I have admired and enjoyed the Chapoutier wines, and it is truly an honor to represent their wines and partner with Michel Chapoutier and his children, Mathilde and Maxime”.

He continued:

“Chapoutier is one of the most known and valued brands in the world, and some of the most well-respected, and sought-after wines for fine wine buyers and collectors. They offer exceptional quality wines across a broad array of wine styles, sourcing regions, and price points, that align with our philosophy of representing wine producers that we are proud to represent and share with family and friends.”

Today, Mathilde and Maxime have brought a new generation in to perpetuate the tradition of a family business, continuing to share a very particular vision of the world of wine – a philosophy based on the concept of ‘terroir’, continuing to uphold the Maison’s convictions.

CHAPOUTIER is an impressive line-up of some of America’s most loved and respected wines. From the well-known centenary Belleruche brand, to the world-renowned Selections Parcellaires, M. CHAPOUTIER is always looking for the most-outstanding terroirs with a biodynamic approach. M. CHAPOUTIER offers an array of wines to suit every palate and price point.

Brands in the transition include the Rhône Valley’s M. CHAPOUTIER, Mathilde Chapoutier Selection, Trenel from Beaujolais, Dominio del Soto from Spain’s Ribera del Duero, Dos Lusiadas from Portugal’s Douro Valley, and Domaine Tournon from Victoria, Australia. Wines will be available nationally through fine wine retailers and restaurants. For more information, please contact Sydnie Hamby at [email protected]

About M. CHAPOUTIER:

Since the beginning of the adventure in 1808, 8 generations have contributed to build one of the finest estates in the Rhône Valley. M. CHAPOUTIER has spread itself across the Rhône region year after year and has diversified its offering with wines coming from the best appellations such as Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Ardèche, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Châteauneauf-du-Pape, Provence, Banyuls, Roussillon but also from Australia, Spain and Portugal. Today, M. CHAPOUTIER is the biggest vineyard owner of the Hermitage appellation. The Maison holds 389 organic or biodynamic hectares and its aim is to reveal Terroirs and fine wines. The family winery also faced radical changes in its winemaking and vineyard management approach when Michel converted the entire estate to biodynamic farming in 1991. Michel also introduced the brail language on the labels and he has had a strong input in the creation of the “Best French Sommelier Student Challenge”. M. CHAPOUTIER wines are crafted with uttermost attention and respect. Winemaking and vineyard management are the strictest representation of Terroirs and vintages, like a painter would discreetly signs at the bottom of his work.
