“A vivid, cherry-scented wine that's nicely complex and has the needed structure for a vivid mouthfeel. Red cherry, sour cherry, rhubarb and black tea flavors show pure pinot character on a medium body braced by moderate tannins. Drink now.”

2022 Dutton-Goldfield Dutton Ranch Walker Hill Vineyard Chardonnay
Jim Gordon, James Suckling, February 2025
“So elegant, silky, delicious, nicely rich and layered. Medium-bodied. Made from grapevines planted in the 1980s using the Wente clone and barrel fermented with indigenous yeast. It's nicely balanced and fresh despite all the richness. Creamy lemon curd, marzipan and poached pears. Drink now or hold.”

2022 Dutton-Goldfield Dutton Ranch Emerald Ridge Pinot Noir
Jim Gordon, James Suckling, February 2025
“So well balanced, well integrated and flavorful. It's complex and delicious, from the vivid aroma of sweet cherries to the tangy, fresh texture that supports red and sour cherry, cranberry, cinnamon bark, pine needle and mushroom flavors. Great acidity gives it a linear, focused expression that drives through to a lingering finish. Drink or hold.”

2014 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires
Decanter, June 2024
“97 Points. Pale and fine-beaded, with a sumptuous aroma of cream, flowers, nuts and quiet orchard fruits – though it’s stealthy as yet, and further cellar time will certainly amplify the charm. On the palate, the wine is crystalline in terms of its focus and balance, while the flavours evoke the plant world – pressed spring leaf and sweet angelica – as much as fruit. The structure is impressive for a Blanc de Blancs, too. Stylish and assured Champagne.”

2014 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires
Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck, October 2024
“Entirely Chardonnay, the bright straw/silver-colored the 2014 Champagne Blanc Des Millénaires has light reduction with beautiful smoky framing as well as notes of white peach, tangerine, fresh flowers, and chalky salinity. Medium-bodied, it has a refined mousse, a silky texture, and a long, elegant finish. It’s not an obvious wine at this stage, but it’s pleasing. It will benefit from time in bottle and drink well over the next couple decades. I like the fruitiness and freshness on the palate. It should pair well with shellfish.”

Yohan Castaing, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2024
“The eighth rendition of this cuvée, the 2014 Brut Blanc de Blancs Blanc des Millénaires evokes a complex, sweet bouquet of candied lemon, confit citrus, blanched almonds, brioche, honeycomb and ripe orchard fruits. Full-bodied, broad-shouldered and ample, it features a velvety attack and a vinous, fleshy core of fruit, with a textural mid-palate that leads to a spicy, long and delicate finish. This is a stunning new release of this cuvée, showcasing its depth and elegance.”

“The 2022 Gran Corte, a blend of 85% Malbec, 9% Cabernet Franc and 6% Tannat from Calchaquí Valley, matured for 12 months in used oak barrels. It boasts a purple hue and offers aromas of plum and white pepper, layered with chutney/oak notes. Indulgent, bold and juicy, its fine, reactive tannins create a compact, moderately rough palate. This is a flavorful high-altitude red.”

2021 Amalaya Gran Corte Malbec
Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, September 2022
“The 2021 Amalaya Gran Corte is a blend of 85% Malbec, 9% Cabernet Franc and 6% Tannat from the Calchaqui Valley and was aged for 12 months in used American and French barrels. Dark purple in hue. The nose presents notes of vanilla and mocha initially followed by hints of syrup, red fruit jam and spicy chutney. Broad with fairly insistent tannins, the alcoholic energy is well-compensated for by the acidity.”

“Peppercorn, anise spices, graphite and hot stones to the fresh blackberries and blueberries. A hint of violet, too. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate with fresh flavors of blue and purple fruits coated by firm, fine-grained tannins. Will soften more in one or two years. ”
