2018 M. Chapoutier Monier de la Sizeranne

Anna-Christina Cabrales, Wine Enthusiast, December 2024

CELLAR SELECTION Powerful and dynamic, this wine showcases a rich savory tapestry, woven with boysenberry, iodine, saffron, violets, and terra-cotta aromas—absolutely stunning. The palate offers a luxurious balance of black fruits and savory meatiness, with a refined texture and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long, with pure blackberry, meaty notes, iodine, and a hint of spice. Delicious now but try to hold well through 2040.”

2006 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires

William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, September 2020

“Recently disgorged with seven grams per liter dosage, the 2006 Brut Blanc de Blancs Blanc des Millénaires is expressive and charming, in keeping with the sunny, demonstrative style of the vintage. Offering up aromas of toasted brioche, honeycomb, yellow apples and preserved citrus, it's full-bodied, fleshy and textural, with a rich core of fruit, ripe acids and an attractive pinpoint mousse. It's already drinking well, and I'd be inclined to approach it sooner than the more tightly wound 2004 rendition.”

2022 Oberon Chardonnay, Los Carneros

Michael Franz, Tasting Panel, November 2024

“An excellent example of opulent Chardonnay with plenty of toasty, spicy oak, this rings up for far less than most of its qualitative equals. Just shy of full-bodied but amply flavorful, it has enough ripe fruit to counterbalance the oak influence and enough underlying acidity to stay nearly as fresh as it is rich through the finish.”
