2022 Amalaya Blanco
Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, November 2022
“The young and floral 2022 Blanco de Corte was produced with 85% Torrontés and 15% Riesling, two aromatic varieties where the Moscatel-like, orange-blossom aromas of the Torrontés dominate. It has moderate ripeness and alcohol (12.5%), keeping good freshness and mellow acidity and coming through as soft and tender. It finishes dry. 180,000 bottles were filled unoaked under a screw cap.”

2018 Donnafugata Mille e una Notte
Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2023
“It shows rich concentration and dark fruit flavors of blackcurrant and plum. With time, you also perceive Sicilian aromas of caper and black olive. Those dark primary fruit flavors are framed by spice and mineral. ”

2020 Donnafugata Ben Ryé
Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2023
“One of the icons of southern Italy...the wine opens to a dark amber color with aromas of dried fig, white raisin, honey, brown sugar and candied fruit. This hot-vintage expression is especially sweet and thick in texture.”

2021 Donnafugata Ben Ryé
Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2023
“The 2021 Ben Ryé is a total pleasure, seducing with a bouquet that mixes sweet smoke with tangerine, mint leaf and clove. Like pure nectar on the palate, this envelopes all it touches in texturally ripe orchard fruits and tropical melon. Sweet spices and sour citrus add contrast toward the close. It finishes spicy and long, leaving a dusty inner floral sensation and hints of candied ginger and lime. Ben Ryé is always a total pleasure and, in my opinion, one of the top dessert wines produced in Italy. This varietal Zibibbo finishes at 197 grams of residual sugar per liter.”

2021 Donnafugata Ben Ryé
Tom Hyland, Italian Wine Report, March 2023
“Bright, deep amber gold; heavenly aromas of apricot, honey, orange zest and a hint of saffron. Medium-full, this offer beautifully ripe fruit, a lush mid-palate, very good acidity, outstanding persistence and superb complexity; the finish is lightly sweet and never cloying. Another great Ben Rye, this is nectar of the gods. This should drink well for 12-15 years if stored well, perhaps longer. Superb!”

2019 Donnafugata Sul Vulcano Etna Rosso
Eric Guido, Vinous, July 2022
“The 2019 Etna Rosso Sul Volcano lifts from the glass with a rich and slightly confectionary bouquet, showing sugar-dusted black cherries, licorice, and dried rose. It's silk-smooth, quite elegant in feel, as ripe red and black fruits wash across the palate, leaving a staining of minerality and subtly grippy tannins in their wake. There's a hint of custard and balsam herbal tones that linger through the finale, as this tapers off lightly structured and tart. The Etna Rosso Sul Vulcano is primarily Nerello Mascalese with a dollop of Nerello Cappuccio. ”

2020 Donnafugata Sul Vulcano Etna Bianco
Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2023
“The 2020 Etna Bianco Sul Vulcano wafts up with a pretty bouquet of tropical citrus and florals, giving way to crushed peaches and mint. It is silky-smooth, deeply textural, with mineral-tinged orchard fruits and brisk acidity that keeps the energy high. This finishes with admirable length and gentle tension.”

2020 Donnafugata Sul Vulcano Etna Bianco
Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast, August 2023
“Yellow apple, lime and grapefruit and then a fresh burst of saline and eucalyptus on the nose opens for a palate sparkling with the sweet acidity of candied lemon peel and the salty bitterness of quartz.”

2019 Donnafugata Sul Vulcano Etna Rosso
Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2023
“The Donnafugata 2019 Etna Rosso Sul Vulcano has tart fruit, wild cherry, blue flower and blanched almond. There are soft volcanic tones of ash and spent ember as well. The wine sports a lean-bodied approach; however, it delivers lots of tension and structural firmness notwithstanding.”

2021 Dutton-Goldfield Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir
Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast, October 2023
“This silky, fruity and refined wine shows great balance between generous red cherry, raspberry and dark plum flavors, and refreshing acidity and moderate tannins. It's poised to drink soon but OK to allow it to mature further. Best from 2025–2030.”

2021 M. Chapoutier Belleruche Blanc
James Suckling, James Suckling,
“A very attractive introduction to the white wines of the Rhone, this has so much apricot, dried apple and pear fruit, but also notes of fresh nuts and hay. Nice juiciness on the generous palate, the interplay of fruit, healthy acidity and a positive touch of tannin very satisfying.”

2014 Piper-Heidsieck Vintage Brut

“Showing nicely complex notes of figs, red apples, golden pears, walnuts and lemon conserve on toast, with a touch of beeswax. It’s medium-bodied, with bright acidity and a textured, phenolic palate. Tight bubbles. Dry feel. 55% pinot and 45% chardonnay. 7g/L dosage. Delicious now.”
