2020 Isole e Olena 'Cepparello' Toscana IGT

James Button, Decanter, January 2023

“A long, hot summer with good day and nighttime temperature variations led to an even ripening. Balsamic and medicinal tones introduce a bright, chewy cherry palate with wood and spice notes. Earth and pomegranate touches emerge towards the finish, framed by ripe, grippy tannins and good acidity. Still very youthful, it will improve with age but seems to lack a little bit of the intensity seen in the 2019.”

Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast, November 2023

“The nose has highlights of rich, ripe fruit, but with a savory balance provided by balsamic, mushrooms and natural notes of wood and stone. On the palate, sweet fruit continues and is emphasized by vanilla undertones, with a latent earthiness maintaining the woodsy balance.”

2018 Donnafugata Cuordilava Dolce&Gabbana

Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, June 2023

“Packaged in a really fun bottle with all the colors of a traditional Sicilian painted horse carriage, this wine is a joint project between Donnafugata and fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. With Nerello Mascalese from 700 meters above sea level on the flank of the Sicilian volcano, the 2018 Etna Rosso Dolce & Gabbana Cuordilava evokes dried currant and cassis with rosemary sprig, rose petal, iron ore and campfire ash. There is some sweet spice over a mid-weight mouthfeel with relatively soft tannins. This special collaboration consists of 7,000 bottles.”

2020 BenMarco Sin Límites Malbec Orgánico

Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, November 2022

“The 2020 BenMarco Sin Límites Malbec Orgánico comes from Casa de Uco in Los Chacayes, cropped from a warmer year, and the place is slightly warmer than the regular Malbec from BenMarco, which is from Los Arbolitos. It comes from colluvial soils with angular stones. There is an iron-like aroma, notes of violets, moderate ripeness and 14% alcohol for a warm year. Surprisingly enough, this wine has not had any added sulfur at any point, not even at bottling time; it's clean, precise and pristine. It's produced in a very reductive way, with no oak whatsoever. It's harmonious and juicy, with fine and round tannins. 10,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2021.”

This is juicy and varietal with no excess, balsamic and herbal but also ripe with 14% alcohol and fine-grained tannins. 20,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2022”

2019 Donnafugata Fragore

Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2023

“The 2019 Etna Rosso Fragore is dark and brooding in the glass, with dusty rose and earth tones slowly giving way to reveal crushed black cherries. While round and juicy on the palate, this possesses a core of tart wild berry fruits and mineral tones that slowly saturate and add a youthful tension toward the close. The 2019 finishes structured and long with a last primary concentration as violet inner florals gradually taper off.”

2020 Donnafugata Isolano Dolce&Gabbana

Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2023

“The 2020 Isolano Dolce & Gabbana is understated in the glass with an airy blend of young peaches and smoky crushed stone. This washes across the palate with ripe orchard fruits and saline-mineral tones, all propelled by juicy acidity. The 2020 leaves a lingering tension and refinement, with repleting mineral tones and finishing with medium length.”

2022 Donnafugata Rosa Dolce&Gabbana

Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2023

“Crushed rocks and roses open the stage for white strawberries and sweet spice as the 2022 Rosa Dolce & Gabbana blossoms in the glass. It teases with its silky textures as a core of saline minerals and zesty citrus build tension throughout. Nectarine and pear notes resonate as the 2022 finishes remarkably fresh and potent. The Rosa is a wonderfully refined blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nocera.”
