“Top 100 Best Buy Wines for 2022 - This wine shows great varietal typicity with an aromatic nose of geranium flower, white peach and citrus fruit. It has nice acidity with subtle herbaceous notes and green apple, linden tea and stone fruit flavors. It has a bitter pleasant finish.”

2021 Colomé Estate Torrontés

Corey Warren, Wine & Spirits, June 2022

“Anibal Calcagno of Oceans in New York enjoyed this wine for its river-rock minerality and clean finish of dried spices and light, perfumed florals. There’s a lemon-verbena scent to the fruit and a smooth texture, ready for scallops and asparagus.”

2021 Colomé Estate Torrontés

Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, November 2021

“Colomé's 2021 Torrontés Estate from Salta, Calchaqui Valley is yellow in hue with a citrussy profile of basil, lemon and lychee along with a faint whiff of orange blossom. Indulgent and voluminous but refreshing with good fat and an idiosyncratically nimble flow, the finish is bold and citrussy. An unusual style for Torrontés, it's both richer and fresher than in previous years.”

2021 Colomé Estate Torrontés

Tim Atkin, Tim Atkin, June 2022

“Colomé’s Torrontés marries young-vine fruit from Finca La Brava with 10% from 100-year- old vines in Molinos. Picked early to avoid bitterness and preserve freshness, it’s a sappy, grapey number with good concentration and lime and orange zest flavours. 2022-24”

Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, November 2022

“The clean, varietal and fruit-driven 2020 Estate Malbec mixes grapes from different terroirs and altitudes where they have vineyards: 1,800, 2,300, 2,600 and 3,111 meters! The wine is ripe at 14.9% alcohol but feels very harmonious and balanced, clean and focused. It matured in French oak barrels, 10% of them new, for 15 months.”

2020 Colomé Estate Malbec

Tim Atkin, Tim Atkin, June 2022

““Our classic Malbec,” is how Thibaut Delmotte describes this blend of four vineyards at different altitudes - Altura Máxima, Colomé, El Arenal and La Brava. Wonderfully juicy and scented, it’s the perfect introduction to the variety, with intense damson, blueberry and wild thyme flavours, palate-caressing tannins and a tangy finish. 2023-30”

2020 Colomé El Arenal Malbec

Tim Atkin, Tim Atkin, June 2022

“This is only the second vintage of a stand-alone Malbec from the El Arenal vineyard at 2,600 metres, which has superseded its role as a mere blending partner at Colomé. Savoury, sappy and grippy, with sinewy tannins, rosemary and lavender aromas and a fresh, well-balanced finish. 2023-32”

2021 Colomé Auténtico Malbec

Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, November 2022

“The 2021 Auténtico Malbec feels very young and a bit raw, like it needs a little more time. This unoaked wine was produced as an homage to the ancestral style of the zone (and to the winery when it belonged to the previous owner, the Dávalos family). It has the intensity and power of Salta and the vines at 2,300 meters in altitude, and it opens up nicely in the glass if you wait a bit. It has very good acidity, which makes it very balanced. Fifteen percent of the volume matured in concrete egg for 10 months and the rest in stainless steel. 65,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2022.”

2021 Colomé Auténtico Malbec

Tim Atkin, Tim Atkin, June 2022

“Made as a tribute to Colomé’s previous owner, Raúl Dávalos, who has an aversion to oak, this unwooded Malbec uses grapes from nine parcels on the estate in Molinos. Wild, savoury and intense, with aromatic herb top notes, tobacco leaf undertones and a compact, layered, densely fruited finish. 2023-30”

2020 Colomé Auténtico Malbec

Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, November 2021

“From Molinos, Calchaquí Valley, the 2020 Malbec Auténtico is unaged and presents a simple nose of ripe plum and hints of violet, gunpowder, jarilla and spices. The flavors are just as intense in the mouth with mild freshness and a juicy flow. The mild tannins lend structure before the lengthy, fruity finish. This is a high-altitude red as pure as the valley air.”

2018 Colomé 1831 Malbec

Jesica Vargas, Wine Enthusiast, September 2022

“This well-balanced wine shows a bouquet of ripe plum and blackberry aromas with hints of rosemary. A silky round palate gives way to plenty of black-fruit flavors blended with a light note of leather. The finish is medium in length, with oaky and fruity notes.”

2018 Colomé 1831 Malbec

Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, November 2021

“The 2018 Malbec 1831 is made with grapes from the establishment’s oldest vineyards, which according to records were first planted in 1831. A vivid red and dense purple hue. This wine has a fragrant, complex and ripe nose of chutney, balsamic traces and notes of redcurrant and hints of bay leaf and plum jam. A nuanced wine, the palate is broad with mild, juicy freshness, good concentration and a gentle feel sculpted a little by characterful tannins before a fruity finish one rarely finds in the valley. A high altitude mild red.”

2021 Amalaya Malbec

Tim Atkin, Tim Atkin, June 2022

“It says Malbec on the label, but this lightly wooded red also includes 15% of perfectly legal Tannat and Petit Verdot. Earlier picked for freshness, it’s sappy and textured, showing plum and blackberry fruit, a waft of violet and refreshing acidity. 2023-28”
