2022 M. Chapoutier La Bernardine Blanc
Stuart Pigott, James Suckling, April 2024
““Full, expressive nose of candied citrus, dried pear and vanilla that pulls you into this very structured, full-bodied white Chateauneuf, which has energetic acidity for this hot and dry vintage. The positive, fine tannins really help to drive this cuvee with clairette from the extreme east of the appellation and grenache blanc from the extreme west. This was vinified in a mix of demi-muid and foudre oak casks. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.””

2021 Laurenz V. Charming Grüner Veltliner
Kristen Bieler, Wine Spectator, February 2024
“A medium-bodied white marked by white cherry, lemon oil and chamomile flavors. Boasts bittersweet lemon-lime acidity, which offsets the richness of custard and white mocha elements through the well-hewn finish. Drink now. 400 cases imported.”

2021 M. Chapoutier Les Granilites Rouge
Jeb Dunnuck, Jeb Dunnuck, December 2022
“The 2021 Saint Joseph Les Granits, which hit a healthy 13.6% natural alcohol, sports a deep ruby/purple hue as well as classic, old school Saint Joseph notes of darker fruits, smoked herbs, earth, and crushed stone. It's medium-bodied, with ripe, polished tannins and nicely integrated acidity.”

2017 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto Vigna Le Rocche Riserva
Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, August 2023
“This year's top-end release from Bruno Giacosa is the 2017 Barolo Riserva Falletto Vigna Le Rocche (in the red label). Bottled in 2019, the wine stands apart thanks to a hot and dry growing season that Bruna Giacosa is very excited about. In fact, she prefers 2017 to 2015, although the two vintages do share similarities. This wine is very open-knit, and it reveals dark concentration in the form of ripe blackberry, candied cherry and spice. The tannins show a loose, granular quality that adds considerably to the textural impact of this Riserva.”

Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Brut
Kyle Swartz, Beverage Dynamics, March 2024
“Reflecting the house style, this blend of wines produced from multiple parcels provides a cross section of the region’s terroir. The wine is brilliant pale gold in the glass, with a fine and persistent mousse. The extended bottle aging provides multiple layers of tree fruit and toasted nuts. In the mouth, it is supple and lively. A great example of an attractive house style, from one of the region’s leading producers”

2021 M. Chapoutier Les Granilites Rouge
Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2024
“Chapoutier's 2021 Saint-Joseph Les Granilites exhibits some crushed stone and raspberry notes but also a decent amount of cedary pencil shavings. Only medium-bodied and not that charming on the palate, there are plentiful tannins and a touch of hardness on the finish, despite the bulk of the tannins seeming quite silky. There's the sensation of slightly over-steeped tea.”

2021 M. Chapoutier Invitare Condrieu
Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2024
“The 2021 Condrieu Invitare showcases the appellation's typical floral aromas, with just a hint of ginger and some fresh apricot flavors. Medium-bodied, this isn't a huge, blowsy wine but a refined, elegant and somewhat understated Condrieu that drinks well now, with a long and silky finish. It's Chapoutier's view that Viognier needs some oxygen during its élevage to help resolve the variety's bitterness, so this is largely matured in demi-muids but with virtually no new oak”

2021 M. Chapoutier Quatuor
Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2024
“A blend of four Chapoutier-owned parcels, the 2021 Cote Rotie Quatuor boasts exciting aromas of violets, dried spices, red raspberries and redcurrants. It's medium-bodied and suave in the mouth, framed by silky, delicate tannins. It's already approachable, with maybe a touch too much cranberry on the long finish.”

2021 M. Chapoutier Quatuor
Stuart Pigott, James Suckling, May 2024
“This Cote-Roti is not only very fresh, it also has a haunting nose of forest berries, candied bitter oranges and dry forest floor. Very fine tannins on the concentrated but vibrant palate. This grows and grows in the glass, the minerality expanding in the very long, dense and fresh finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.”

2021 M. Chapoutier La Combe Pilate Viognier
Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2024
“From a granitic site near Michel's home in Ardeche, the 2021 IGP Collines Rhodaniennes La Combe Pilate Viognier is spicy, floral and perfumed, as it should be, with hints of nutmeg, cassia, anise, melon and orange blossom. Made in stainless steel, it's medium-bodied and richly textured, with a long, spice-driven finish.”

2021 Donnafugata Bell'Assai
Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast, April 2024
“The warm, floral nose features delicate notes of roses and cherry blossoms, as well as more provocatively sweet aromas of strawberries and cream. The palate takes a bitter turn, which is underscored by a latent earthiness, while acid bounces around polished, firm tannins”
