Isole e Olena Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT
Toscana IGT, Tuscany, Italy
Tasting Notes
Isole e Olena’s Cabernet Sauvignon has a profound and intriguing soul and yet is also charged with Chianti Classico vitality. Produced in small qualities, the grapes used for this wine grow on vines that are more than twenty years old.
Vintage Notes
2020 commenced with a mild, dry winter. Temperatures dropped significantly in March and care was needed in the vineyard to prevent frost damage to the vines. Summer was dry and mild with the steady weather conditions until the end of August, when the region saw some bouts of rainfall. However, the weather calmed during September and the 2020 harvest gave excellent results both in terms of quality and quantity.
Winemaking Notes
Fermented in stainless steel tanks. It ages in barriques for one year, in a ratio of one third new oak, one third second use, one third third use, plus two years more in bottle.
Vineyard Notes
This vineyard covers 3 hectares and is planted on soils of marly shists and limestone with a south-southwestern exposition at 300–400 meters.

ALCOHOL: 14.5%
Tasting Notes
The Cabernet Sauvignon shows pure berry and cassis fruit flavors on the palate with focused and layered expressions of blackberry fruit, vanilla, and minerals. Savory in flavor, velvety in texture with firm yet supple tannins.
Vintage Notes
A mild and relatively dry winter and early spring allowed for regular budding. Some rain during the second half of spring prepared the terrain for a classic summer with little rain and characterized by regular, warm temperatures with very few extreme peaks. Bunches were in excellent health which resulted in a generous yield, both in terms of quality and quantity.
