Donnafugata Nighttime Harvest

Nocturne for Vineyard and Percussion

August 10th at Donnafugata a Calici di Stelle (Goblets of Stars) rich in emotion; the magic of the nighttime harvest becomes a composition written and interpreted by musician Nino Errera, to celebrate the accord between man and nature.

A score that draws inspiration from the wind, from the colors of the land and the vineyard, and recounts the energy of life and the harvest; everything has a sound everything has a soul, thus branches, leaves and wine will be the instruments – together with other percussion – from which the artist will create an amazing harmony, arousing the emotions you can savor in the event teaser http://bit.ly/Gobletofstars_2016.

This Calici di Stelle, the first without Giacomo Rallo, the recently deceased founder of Donnafugata, takes on particular significance, also in the sentiments: the nighttime harvest of the Chardonnay – adopted in several prestigious wine regions today – was experimented by Giacomo in 1998 and then adopted in the La Fuga vineyard. An important innovation, that exploited the cooler nighttime temperatures to preserve the grape aromas and reduce energy consumption during cooling: solutions that allowed to increase the quality and take a concrete step forward in terms of environmental sustainability.

During the night of the stars, the protagonist is the perfect balance between man and nature, a mutual love relationship made up of care and dedication that culminates in the harvesting of the grapes. A unique opportunity to understand the commitment and passion with which Donnafugata wines are produced and to taste them with greater intensity.

The tasting of the company’s wines leads the wine lover to discover “The Collections”. An original way to present its wines starting from the wishes of the wine lovers. The Donnafugata Collections satisfy the wish for Exclusivity, Charm, Harmony and Joy.

In addition to some old vintages now no longer on the market of icon wines, such as Mille e una Notte and Ben Ryé, testimonials of extraordinary longevity, great emphasis will also be dedicated to the oil Milleanni: Donnafugata’s extra virgin loved by connoisseurs of Sicilian cultivars, it will be paired with bread from Russello and Tumminìa, ancient Sicilian grains the Vescera family has been committed to preserving and enhancing for years.

The great interest in Calici di Stelle at Donnafugata will lead the Sicilian Instagrammers community to follow the event live and document it directly from the company profile, thanks to the take over of @Donnafugatawine, the first time for an Italian winery. Instead, on Facebook and Periscope you can follow the video recounting, to experience and share the magic of the night of San Lorenzo at Donnafugata.
