Business Development Manager

Edward Rapp, Business Development Manager

Edward is a veteran of the wine and spirits wholesale industry in the Mid-Atlantic, with more than a decade of experience primarily in the dynamic market of Washington, DC. He began his career with Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits as an On Premise Sales Consultant, before transitioning to a dedicated Fine Wine Sales Consultant and ultimately to an Area Manager. In this role he gained extensive experience while managing teams calling on Independent On & Off Premise as well as National grocery chains.  After more than 9 years with SGWS, Edward took a position with Winebow as the District Manager for both Washington, DC and Montgomery County, the latter of which provided tremendous learning opportunities for how control markets operate. After nearly 2 years with Winebow, Edward returned to SGWS as the Director of Commercial Strategy for Maryland, DC, and Montgomery County. In this role Edward was able to combine his enthusiasm for utilizing data driven insights with on the street experience.

Edward achieved his WSET Diploma in February 2021 and holds numerous certifications from the Wine Scholar Guild including Champagne Masters, French Wine Scholar, and Spanish Wine Scholar. His passion for learning and continuing education around high quality, authentically produced wines is what drives his sales strategy toward making meaningful partnerships with restaurants and retailers. It was this approach that led him to join Folio, as the family owned wineries within the portfolio represent the best of what their respective regions can produce.

In his spare time, Edward enjoys cooking and baking (with variable success in the latter), hiking, and experiencing any one of the many restaurants in the DMV’s vibrant dining scene. He looks forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the Folio Portfolio across the Mid-Atlantic. ”
