David Grunner

A native New Yorker raised with deep roots in the wine industry and my mother’s native italy (thanks to whom I grew up speaking Italian), I am overjoyed to bring a lifelong passion for Italian wine and culture to the role of Icon Director of Italian Brands for Folio Fine Wines. Before joining the industry in earnest, I spent over a decade in mission-driven Jesuit education, teaching in both the university and high school classrooms.

My entry into the world of wine and spirits began at Hardshore Distilling Company, a Portland, Maine–based artisanal gin distillery, where I served as the inaugural Director of Sales. I later joined Daylight Wines and Spirits, a Sonoma-based portfolio of wines and whiskeys, initially as Northeast Sales Director before assuming the role of U.S. East Sales Director.

I am thrilled to begin the next chapter of my professional journey with Folio, committed fully to championing the fine wines that comprise this portfolio and sharing their stories with the world at large.

Outside of work, I am an avid tennis and Formula 1 fan (Forza Ferrari!), a marginally decent pool player, and an amateur photographer who finds joy in wandering around with his trusty Canon AE-1 in hand. I will never say no to a night at the theatre–and will rarely turn down a Negroni.
