Maison Champy Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de Bully
AOC Pernand-Vergelesses, Burgundy
Lovely, dark garnet in color with aromatic intensity featuring notes of red and black fruit on a background of mineral with a touch of smoke. This is a well-defined wine with great structure and balance and fine tannins.
Cold maceration with natural yeast fermentation in vatting over the course of three weeks. Aged in 20% new barrels
The Pernand-Vergelesses vineyards stretch over the hilly slopes between Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-lès-Beaune. Only six of its plots are classified as red Premiers Crus - Les Fichots, En Caradeux, Creux de la Net, Ile des Vergelesses, and Les Plantes des Champs et Combottes. This location features one of the oldest vineyards of Burgundy and was planted in 1158 by the monks of the Abbaye de Maizières.
