My first grape harvest took place in Phoenix, Arizona where I grew up. When fall arrived, my family and I drove to south Phoenix to pick as many table grapes as we could fit into our bright orange VW Squareback. Needless to say, the Flame Seedless grapes that we harvested from these vineyards had more to do with fine jelly than fine wine.
My first exposure to fine wine came in college while waiting tables. When trying to memorize a 300-item wine list proved to be very uninspiring, I decided that things could be much more interesting if I knew the difference between a Barbera and a Barolo. As such, I started tasting and learning about wines from across the globe. A trip to France after graduating from college sealed the deal on my passion and career!
Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to travel to wine regions across the world and learn from dedicated wine professionals at all levels of our industry. My professional development includes roles at The Slanted Door, K&L Wine Merchants, Sacred Thirst Selections, Chambers & Chambers and RNDC-Young’s Market Company. My professional certifications include the WSET Diploma and the WSET Sake Level 3 Advanced. I also hold a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA from the University of Saint Francis. I am thrilled to be a part of the Folio Fine Wine Partners team and look forward to making the world a better place, one glass of wine at a time!
