Sales & Marketing Analyst

Dan Baker, Sales & Marketing AnalystAfter working in accounting and finance for banks and brokerage firms in Chicago for almost 15 years, I took a year off work, did some traveling, and decided it was time to relocate. Somehow I found myself in tony, sleepy Sebastopol, CA, a world apart from the bustling social life and corporate world of Chicago. Needing to pay bills after a year off work, I contacted a temp agency, and on my second assignment did some analysis with Allied Domecq during their dissolution in 2005. When AD’s wine portfolio became Beam Wine Estates I was brought on permanently. Since Beam, I have continued to learn and expand my sales and financial analysis in the wine industry with Francis Ford Coppola, Treasury Wine Estates, Duckhorn Wine Company, Distinguished Vineyards, and now Folio Fine Wine Partners.

When I am not corralling spreadsheets, I travel, tend to my rescue dog Jax, travel, play pickleball, travel, hike, travel, watch The Amazing Race, travel, attend concerts of old-time rockers before they all die, travel, travel, and travel. I’ve set foot on five continents with a life’s goal to visit the other two (hint: they both begin with “A”). My favorite place to visit is Paris. My tip to people who’ve told me they don’t have the time or money to go to Europe: visit Quebec City, Canada. In recent years, my travels have been more focused on road trips across the U.S., which has led me to another goal of visiting all our national parks.
