Spellbound

Spellbound was born of Winemaker Rob Mondavi, Jr.’s desire to craft every day, approachable wines from California. Rob Mondavi, Jr. and partners, wife Lydia Mondavi, Patti McKiernan and Geoff Whitman, honor California’s heritage through Spellbound’s focus on one of the first varietals grown in the state, Petite Sirah. The Petite Sirah drives the Spellbound line because of its juicy and approachable style. In 2009 Spellbound launched an outstanding Petite Sirah Reserve from Napa Valley, reinforcing the label’s commitment to this growing, esoteric varietal.

Crafted from grapes from established and emerging regions in California, such as Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley, Santa Barbara and Lodi, the core Spellbound lineup includes the Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, most recently—Merlot.

The unique, eye-catching moon label and delicious, approachable wines have assured Spellbound’s success in the on and off-premise channels. Because Spellbound wines pair so well with food, they’ve become a favorite choice of fine and casual restaurants, from neighborhood venues to popular destinations like PF Chang’s, McCormick & Schmick's, and Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.
