Medusa

Gnarled, twisted old Zinfandel vines were the inspiration behind
the Medusa wines logo, named for the snake-haired figure of Greek mythology. Medusa is a unique line of single-vineyard, old-vine Zinfandels created by fourth-generation winemaker Rob Mondavi together with his wife, Lydia Mondavi, and their partner, Patti Romano. 

Rob sources fruit for Medusa from California’s finest Zinfandel regions, including Napa Valley, Mendocino and Amador County. 
With vines more than 50 years old, each of these sites contributes distinctive, intensely concentrated character for four truly unique Zinfandel expressions.

Medusa (www.medusawines.com)produced its first vintage in 2003
to high praise and acclaim, and picked up momentum through association with Zinfandel Advocates and Producers (ZAP). At a recent ZAP event in San Francisco, Medusa was chosen as a standout, and fans of the label aren’t shy about showing their support. Instead of the fake Medusa tattoos handed out at the
events for fun, several enthusiasts have opted for the real thing!
