Area Manager, New York Region
As a second generation Italian, I was raised with a sense of appreciation for food and wine; family vacations were spent in Italy enjoying meals made with fresh ingredients and wines that naturally complimented them. My formal training began while working in restaurants throughout college which emphasized wine education. I also studied abroad in Florence, Italy and traveled to many of the beautiful wine regions throughout the country being exposed to the indigenous grape varieties and culinary specialties within each region.
After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Communications/PR and Italian I took a position as PR/Event Coordinator at one of Connecticut's leading boutique wine shops. In this role my palate developed as I was exposed to tasting a plethora of wines daily. After three years in retail I wanted to experience wine production first hand so I travelled to Colchagua Valley, Chile and Franschhoek, South Africa to work harvest. I performed a wide range of tasks which heightened my sense of appreciation not only for wine but for the hard-working people who performed these labor-intensive tasks daily. I also had the opportunity to visit several wine regions throughout Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
I took my next step in the wholesale sector in Connecticut working as a Key Account Wine Manager for the Charmer Sunbelt Group (CDI) where I assisted accounts with wine education, wine list development and event planning. I then moved on to a Regional Manager position at one of Folio's wholesalers, Worldwide/Brescome Barton Inc. A few years later I joined a start-up import/distribution company as the Vice President of Sales building the sales force, account list and import portfolio traveling to Spain, Italy and Portugal to select new wines for the portfolio.
I joined Folio Fine Wine Partners in November 2012 as the New York Area Manager; honored to be a part of this talented group, I look forward to representing our producers and supporting our distributor partners to the best of my ability.
