The Marchesi de’Frescobaldi Group Grows 18.8% in the U.S.
United States is Still Company’s Number One Export Market
Florence, May 29th, 2014 – The Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi Group announced today that shipments from Italy registered an 18.8% increase in the U.S. in 2013 vs 2012. Global world sales grew 4.3% in 2013.
The United States is still the number one export market, representing 15% of the total business. Exports account for 68% of the total revenue, mostly driven by the Group’s high-end wines.
"We’re very happy about the positive trend taken in the U.S. market, where we registered a steady increase in sales throughout the year.” said Giovanni Geddes Filicaja, CEO of the Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi Group. “In 2013, we invested 10 million dollars to strengthen and modernize the vineyards and production facilities. We are also investing in long-term activities in order to further promote and strengthen our high-end brands: Frescobaldi, Luce della Vite, Ornellaia and Attems.”
